You missed a good one Crawldaddy. We had perfect weather after the Friday morning chill and reached our cars just as a few raindrops were hitting the ground. Very scenic with smooth trails without the puds - contour hiking MedicineMan calls it. It was a pleasure to meet JoeyB (aka the Fire Marshall) and Hangnout - two top notch folk. And I had the opportunity to cam a few items to Poof and Spamburglar.

and the heat can crack rock via moisture to steam and it land on your head.

Looks like a great time. Small groups make for enjoyable travel. Logistically easy, socially easy. Makes me want to paddle that river again.
