Not sure if it has been mentioned, but the tag feature allows for the the creation of a sub-forum by linking all threads with that tag together in the tag search. If someone was to tag their tarp thread with UL, then it would be found in the tag search "UL" as would the thread about underquilts even though those threads actually existed in different sub- forums.

Yes, tag searches are effective. I would suggest putting 'ultralight' as a tag, rather than a shortened version. The forum will automatically add all the usable words from a thread's title as suggested tags. So, again putting 'ultralight' in the thread's title will accomplish that.

    I'm with R00K

I understand the reason why there is not going to be a UL forum or sub forum, but if there were I would spend a lot of my time there. As it stands now, I read a lot in many different places for the information I seek. It be nice to start my time on line with lite minded people trying to accomplish the same thing. Like R00K, both hammocks and UL hiking have changed my life for the better. I can relate to his desire.

How 'bout it, Rook and UL advocates?

We can see how well this can work if you all start using the word "ultralight", spelled that way as a tag, and (why not in the title, too?) if that is a motivation or critical feature of the thread you start. That's

    ultralight

as a tag, and in the title. Always spelled out once, without abreviation. This can go viral if you all are active carriers, and start coughing "ultralight" when appropriate, until everyone is infected. That's the way sewing got rebranded.

Just a thought but why not start a thread on UL Hammocking in the general hammock talk forum. Then after it becomes big enough ask the mods to sticky it like they did withe some of the other ones. That way its there for everyone.
Life looks better from a BIAS hammock.

Many members and multiple moderators have said that it's not forthcoming right now.

    That's pretty clear.
