This is how I did my draft tubes. Its IX stuffed with old sleeping bag insulation, kinda reminds me of the draft tubes they sell for insulating doors in a house.

I only did the foot end cause I dont feel a draft on my back. But, I might experiment with draft tubes on all 4 sides. I need all the heat I can get (and save)

Alright guys. I've made a post and tried to fully explain the setup w/ pics and all here:

I've also posted the draft collar info here:

Really hope this helps clarify. Give me feedback and I'll try to answer any more questions.

    Demostix and OldGringo,
I think you can use scum's idea to adjust side to side. Attach a long line to the right head side of your UQ, attach another line to the right foot side, run each line thru a prussik on hammock ridgeline (To keep lines from sliding up and down ridgeline), attach a short line to the left head and left foot of UQ, attach left side and right side lines with tautline hitch and adjust as needed.

This probably complicates scum's simple design and adds too many lines to set up, but maybe it will spark an idea for someone.

Wait a minute. That wont work. You need a tautline on each side of the ridgeline.

I then simply hook the Zing-it over the knots on the ends of my gathered end hammock.
I like this! Seems like it would be a bit lighter than running 100% shockcord. Do you have any cordlocks for adjustability on the Zing-it ends, or just have the dimensions nailed down so none are required?

So jumping in late to the conversation but been following the thread. Prior to the Dutch Quilt Hook I was attaching my UQ to the Dutch Biner that attached my woopies to my hammock (using the woopies inverted style). This thread inspired me to make a new set of woopies with Dutch Quilt Hooks attached to the adjustable end instead of a bead. I found they worked awesomely. All I had to do was hook my UQ shock cord to the Dutch Quilt hook and it pulled the UQ nice and tight up against the hammock. This was even easier then cliping it to the Dutch Biner and kept my woopies and UQ suspension system from getting tangled. This will be my new go to set up.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
