Hey Hey all!
First off, Thanks to all of you who put together the great info I've found on this forum.
I'm not a hanger yet. I've been lurking for a while but last night I decided to join up. I like what I've seen and read so far. I'm going to give it a try, I'm gonna hang!
I found this forum while looking around for another.....tent. I read many posts about campers with bad backs that have turned to hammocks with great relief. That was all I needed to hear!My back is pretty beat up. I've been buying thicker and thicker ground pads, and with that comes more and more weight. That is one of my reasons for trying this out, looks like fun is another.
So, today I ordered all the fixins for my suspension. Tomorrow I'll go out and find me some ripstop, and in a few days I'll be hangin. For now I'm going use my old 8x10 poly tarp, pads, and sleeping bags for the rest of my kit. Skeeters are gonna be gone soon so a bug net can wait.
Well, in a week or two I'll let you know how my first trip out in a hammock went.
