I just bought my first hammock

Yes, that's right! I'm new to hammocking, call me crazy but I think i'll like it even though i've never slept in a hammock. From what i've read about how wonderful hammock sleeping is coupled with how lousey sleep I get when i sleep in my tent, i just got fed up and said "Screw it", i'm done with these horrible nights in tents on hard dirt trying to stay on a small pad in an even worse sleeping bag. Today I bought a Clark hammock nx250(i'm a big guy) with z-liner(200) and a "Big Agnes-Hogan Park" down sleeping bag. I sure hope i like it! Trying it out in a couple weeks on a flyfishing trip into the Sierras, i think it's gonna be cold out but hope to stay warm with my new gear. Glad to join you guys in this forum!

Welcome to the forums! Congrats on the new hammock, I'm sure you'll love it. Any minor comfortability issues you may ever have with a hammock (I've experience pretty much none) will still be 10 times more comfortable than the ground.

I'm sure you'll find any info you may be looking for here and plenty of helpful people. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Enjoy the glory of comfortable sleeping!

You'll love it. Sleeping in a hammock is way nicer than tent camping.

Welcome to the world above the ground .
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
