A BIG +1 for Wilderness Logics, Big Black Daddy

I wanted to give a HUGE shout to Marty at Wilderness Logics.

First, he helped me keep my butt warm with a 3/4 Synthetic UQ (to stave off the SC humidity and keep cost down), my head comfy with one of his pillows (overstuffed) and some nice skins to boot.

Then, he came thru with some awesome gear for my First SC Annual Fall Sprawl to be raffled, which helped raise money that was donated to the park. One of which was a Tadpole Tarp that I got to see rigged and hung. I was really impressed with the design and coverage of the smallest tarp they offer, so my brain got to working (which is a dangerous thing believe me)

Well, just a few days ago, I received the newest piece of Wilderness Logics gear, the BIG Daddy tarp, in black. I've been giving it a lot of thought to an all black setup thats smaller and lighter than what I started off with, and after setting up my SuperFly a few times I thought "maybe something....simpler..."

So, I passed the tarp to someone else on here on the forums and placed my order for the Big Black Daddy.

Just a few LOOONG days go by and the smallest of boxes shows up.... I carefully slice open the tape....and I can't believe I got the right tarp (but I did...) the tarp, in its stuff sack, is HALF the height of the Superfly. The tarp is only 5" shorter than the Superfly/Mambajamba (vertically) and while I dont have a scale, I can't believe its .4oz heavier the BMJ.

I havent had a chance to actually hang it yet, but upon taking it out of the sack and stretching it out I'm very impressed. I'm on the way to the perfect Pirate setup.

Next thing, I'm getting the pole pockets from 2QZQ and one day, the King TQ from WL.

So if youre wondering about their stuff, stop and find out for yourself. You wont be disappointed.

    Pics will come soon....

Recently received an OMW tarp and it is A+ all the way. Just ordered a couple of his down pillows too. Marty's customer service is also 2nd to none!

Brick, I was there with Marty when your TQ came in the mail...shouldn't be too long before he gets one back to you...He mention making one that size and putting it on the website and naming it the "BRICK" for us "full figured guys"...

I just received a full down quilt and Lite Owl for my son. I am going to do a side by side comparison between the WL full quilt and the 20 degree incubator I received last week. IMO the quality and construction are on par with one another, but Ill get a better report tomorrow and especially next week after our KY trip.

im looking forward to hearing about that opie, im still out on trying to figure out if i need the king or just a wider normal, since the length should be good but im a bit on the wide side.

Groundhog, If marty names that quilt the BRICK, it would be cool as hell! Though I wonder if it would get folks thinkin the quilt was made of teflon coated down and weighed to much? Ha!
