    Trinity Alps with NEW HammockGear!

I had a great visit to Canyon Creek Lakes area of the Trinity Alps.

It is very hammock friendly! Here is the hex tarp made by HammockGear.

I love the substancial feel of the heavier weight cuben fiber. It is not crinkly, but has more stiffness than I imagined. It pitches nice and taut with the cat cut StormCrow built in to the ridgeline.

Next time I think I will retighten the ends on the ridgeline after staking it out to get it ever tighter.

I loved my new 20 degree Burrow with the 7d fabric and 1 ounce overstuff. The fabric is even more luxuriously silky than other nylon fabric. The only thing remaining for me to do is to purchase silk underwear. Since merino wool long johns proved to be too sweaty at temps in the 30s with a quilt as warm as this one is.

The refinement of a great product is what I really notice about my two new HammockGear products. These folks really deliver, and really work hard to offer such great products. And they do it at an incredible value! Thanks HammockGear for making this recent trip that much more enjoyable!

Thanks, Dejoha. Yeah, I was marveling at all of the water; waterfalls, creeks, and at least seven lakes! All on a four day hike. Complete solitude beyond the second Canyon Creek Lake as well. Also the granite formations are very rugged and picturesque, especially for how low the elevations are there.

I am afraid if I was out there right now I wouldn't have made it up the hill. There is too much steel in the waters around you!!!

Nice looking gear and beautiful place to spend a few days.

Hi there fishing buddy! Thanks, sure was great, I highly recommend it.

I caught many trout in some of those upper lakes. But I probably passed dozens of prime locations on the creek. I saw big trout near Forbidden Lake, but I don't really know where the steeel run.

Thanks Shug, BTW your video on the HammockGear cuben fiber tarp was a very timely and helpful in my tarp choice. I loved the suave vocal quality of your production, I think it is one one of your best videos!

Oh, and did I mention that this tarp is just 6.3 ounces in the stuffsack (before adding UL guylines). That is because it is the .78 weight cuben, yet it is in the economical hex shape.

And you are right the Trinity Alps are really beautiful. Here are a couple of lake photos that I forgot to include earlier.
