Because you fall through the clouds if you try to lay on them, so the next best thing is a hammock.
I use these to listen to my iPod. $25 free over night shipping and there is no cord. Nothing gets in the way of anything. http://www.arriva.com/shuffle/index.html see what you think.
I love white noise. In the summer it is my window unit air conditioner, and the rest of the year I use my white noise sound machine. I was worried about this too as I'm not going to take along my noise maker, but I haven't had a problem. It takes me a long time to get to sleep when I'm hanging, but it's because I like to listen to the noises around me in the woods and eventually I settle in a nice deep sleep. I don't like the packs of coyote noise though. I find that one rather eerie and it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up....I must admit that I did not sleep at all that night
Javalina's...those are a little similar to wild pigs right? But smaller? I think having them around would be difficult and if they are like wild pigs, they are so destructive and down right noisy...I like the Iphone idea that was posted and adding a white noise app to it. If I'm wrong on javalina's, then my apologies on that one.
Flask of good scotch is all I need. Medicinal of course.
Yep, piglike...
Javalina from the hammock...
Could you tell us specifically where you were camped? Looks like a great area.
We were in the western Bradshaw Mountains at a private ranch to do some fishing.
I'm thinking I need to head back there in Javalina Season to do some more "hammocking" ... lol
Take a week long trip. About 5-7 nights and you should be able to sleep like a baby by the end of the trip. A bottle of red wine helps pretty well too.

this help me sleep well. At home, in the woods, doesn't matter.
