    Exploring the Kanangra Wilderness (Australia)

The Kanangra wilderness in the Blue Mountains is some of my most loved area for exploring. Every trip is always exciting and this trip was no different. Wentworth and myself were out for two nights and three days and managed to get some nice weather after some cold wind and hail were reported the previous days. The area is very diverse and has amazing rock formations. We even happened on to some aboriginal axe groves!

I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

Beautiful stuff. Curious about the wear depressions next to your hand. Do you know anything about them??. Are they from grinding grain of some kind??

Yes, they are axe groves. Used to fashion and sharpen axe heads. They can be found in many places in the mtns if you know where to look. We just happened onto these ones. No telling how old they were.

Thanks for the nice report & photos hitchhiking.

The first shot of the the tarp reminds me why I love hammocking so much, uneven ground, rocks and sticks, no problem! and wow, that tarp is RED...
