@willswim - I'm not sure what another person having the two quilts could tell you that hasn't been told yet. My WL quilt should go in the mail today. I went for that one for a couple of reasons:
x the price was better
x WL's UQ has 14oz down fill as a standard vs HG's UQ has 12oz (both 800+, you can upgrade to 900+ with HG's, not with WL)
x I got an extra oz + shipping => lower price than a 15oz HG's UQ with shipping
x I ordered from WL before and was very pleased with their service
They both look very similar. The only real differences I found are the baffles (HG has got two more), the weight (HG is a bit lighter), the length (WL is a bit longer) & the price (WL is better priced). I know more baffles should keep your down in place better, but since I get cold easily when not moving much (which tends to happen when sleeping) the extra overfill was quite welcome, meaning 15oz. This is the max amount of useful overfill, so I'm sure it'll stay into place. I also know WL stitch everything meticulously (marty told me ). Extra stitches here and there, some in places where other UQ's have none, which should make it a strong & durable UQ. Don't know about stitching policies at HG, perhaps someone here can deny/confirm additional stitching from an HG UQ. I'm sure that HG makes a fine quality quilt as well though, as opie already confirmed.
Guess in the end, it's personal choice really. It's you who'll have to sleep in it, it's you who'll carry it around, it's you who'll want to be warm in it and hopefully use it for a very long time.
