It was great meeting everyone. Thanks Bama. It would be nice if you could thicken up the air up there. I will be back in the spring to finish the trip to the top of the mountain. I believe my old man was done by the time we reached the trail heading down to the campsite at turnipseed. Learned a lot on this trip and will be better prepared next time. Sorry but that plane crash was there in the late 70's when I first hiked there. I have photo evidence from a trip in 1980.
That's what I thought, I stumbled upon a news article about a crash in 91 that sounded almost the same (http://www.nytimes.com/1991/03/25/us...n-alabama.html). I am sure there have been a few crashes, hard to tell which one is which.

I believe that it is the same crash of December 26, 1972 addressed in the NTSB report of a crash in Alabama with the same plane identification numbers.
