There were a few plane wrecks up there, right? I would have to look up the details but you seemed to know way more than me.

    Great Trip

It was great meeting everyone. Thanks Bama. It would be nice if you could thicken up the air up there. I will be back in the spring to finish the trip to the top of the mountain. I believe my old man was done by the time we reached the trail heading down to the campsite at turnipseed. Learned a lot on this trip and will be better prepared next time. Thanks to everyone for the tips and tricks. Remember come spring if anyone needs a warm weather vacation? Come see me on the Dolphin boat. Just pm me when you want to come for a free trip. Later, Bently

I understand what fog is like at Cheaha. We camped up there for a week in the sping of 2007. The fog never lifted off the mountain for five straight days.

The same day as seen from below

    And again from the lake

From what we gathered, this is typical spring weather.

Sorry but that plane crash was there in the late 70's when I first hiked there. I have photo evidence from a trip in 1980.

That's what I thought, I stumbled upon a news article about a crash in 91 that sounded almost the same (http://www.nytimes.com/1991/03/25/us...n-alabama.html). I am sure there have been a few crashes, hard to tell which one is which.

I believe that it is the same crash of December 26, 1972 addressed in the NTSB report of a crash in Alabama with the same plane identification numbers.

    Hi there, aboyd,

I didn’t like the video, it made me “I want to be there” sick. Perfect weather for it too, which didn’t help me. Veerrry nice place and video!

That's the funniest looking hammock I have ever seen.

There was an error in my post. I listed it as 2007, when I should have said 3 b.h. (before hammock).
