    "Unite against the skeet". Ha, nice.

    @samsara, nice idea. Pics?

    TFC, yes, some lucky guy indeed.

    DivaB, it's a mesh I picked up at Joann's during a 50% off sale. It is similar to no-see-um in that the holes are very small but it's less stiff and weighs more than no-see-um.

    Ok, here you go. Sorry for the crappy pictures but it was too bright yesterday evening for the pictures to show up at all and this morning I was in a hurry and used my phone to take the pictures. Anyhoo, here they are...

    First is with the end closed

    Next is with the end opened up to allow it to be slid over the hammock

    And the last is with it slid a few feet over the hammock (I didn't want to take my stuff out to slide it all the way over but you can if you want)

    Perfect execution here. I'll do this on my next version.

    Well, Skeet Skeet Skeet! I couldn't resist!
    I have a nice lightweight summer bug net hammock I picked up from amazon for about 40$- its a "Moskito Traveler" from Byer of maine- I like it for the buggy season and it's nice in the fall too because it is reversible so you can have the bug net hang under you- perfect place to stuff a poncho liner or wool blanket so that you don't have to lay directly on top of it.

    For a cheap piece of gear it's worth its weight in gold- Ive had mine for 3 years now with no issues.

    I did the same treatment around all the openings. Edged them with a small nylon channel and used draw cord on the hammock ends and 1/32" shockcord for the big bottom hole. I also treated the whole thing with permethrin.

    I also made the bottom hole 96" in circumference. In other words, I cut each side with a bottom dimension of 48".

    Nice work Syb. I made one with some similar mods but I also put in a zipper entry instead of the drawstring entry. I couldn't get my drawstring to close 100% so I put in the zipper.
    Good luck,

    The zipper is a good idea. I haven't tried sewing a zipper yet so I might give it a try. Yes, closing it 100% with the drawstring is next to impossible. Hmm... perhaps some omnitape?
