1.25 zline or 1.2 tech line

Soon I should have a new cuben tarp coming my way and I've been thinking about how I want to do the tie outs for it and what line I want to use. Currently I'm using dyna glide attached to 1.5mm sheethed prussics. I love the set up but to stay with the theme of cuben, I'd like to have a very lightweight suspension and tie out system.

I was originally planning on using 1.25 zline with linelocs, but I noticed diygearsupply has some 1.2mm tech line. I feel like the rough texture of the zline might work as a prussic for the softer texture of the braid tech line.

Does anyone have experience with either of these lines and how do you use them?
Have you used prussics with either of these lines? If so, what is the prussic line?
Has anyone spliced 1.2mm tech line? Seems impossible.

I only use the Zline 1.25mm for guylines. SGT Rock used it as a hammock ridgeline but it failed on him I believe.

Be warned the line is not very abrasion resistant. Make sure you tie off to a smooth stake like a ti stake. If it rubs agains a corner it will frey and break. BUT if used correctly this was strong enough to keep my tarp tied in about 30mph winds. I was impressed!

i ordered some that techline from diygearsupply to test-- and, like you--
was thinking of doing the 1.25 sheathed zpack stuff for my prussicks.

I have and have used the 1.25 Zline, I will +1 what Raul said, but will also add that I had conversation with Srg.Rock about the lines and attachments he was using! What it came down to was prussics on or made with the 1.25 zline will not hold efficiently, I tried and the line is very stiff and hard to make constrict and act as a prussic should, I also tried a tautline hitch and while it worked better I felt that it was too finicky to be messing with in a storm! Using a line lock would definitely help, I like the zline but found that it was just easier to use the line from whoopieslings (that I already had), and AHE for my tie-out's and ridge, and while it may add weight, it replaces the confidence back that when needed to hold in nasty weather, it will!

I am currently using tech line for my tarp ridgeline, think VERY skinny amsteel. It is braidable, and have done braided brummelled loops... but ya gotta have patience! Couple of loops of shock cord for prussiks, and it is all good!

I've used it for prussiks onto my lash-it ridge line. Works a treat

I'm using 1.25 Z-Line Spectra Cord for guylines and 1.5 Z-Line Spectra Cord for the tarp ridgeline. Both thicknesses work great with micro line locs.

Thanks to everyone for your information. I think I'm just going to order a little of both to play around with. I was checking out some of lukestegs 1.2 tech line the other day and it looks real nice.

Do you guys think the tech line would work with the mini linelocs? Obviously the diameter is fine but I wasn't sure if braided line works well with linelocs.

The 1.75mm zing-it (braided, somewhat slick) did not hold well in the micro-lineloc's. Figured the extra diameter would help, but alas the sheath on the zline makes all the difference.
