    TQ/UQ shell fabrics

    Pretty quick/straigthforward question here.

I'm looking at making my own TQ and UQ. I'm currently working out what materials I will need to order to produce them. given that I'm in Australia where it is very difficult to source quality materials locally and at a reasonable price, I'll probably order through DIYGearSupply or ThruHiker.

At the moment I'm leaning towards using M90 for the TQ and a standard 1.1oz ripstop calendared nylon for the UQ. The main reason would be that M90 feels softer which would be more attractive on a TQ.

Is that reasonable logic? Is there a huge difference between the feel of the M90 and ordinary ripstop? What about difference in how it performs?

I guess what I'm asking is: is the m90 really worth paying double for in a TQ application? and would its improved wind resistance make for a vastly improved UQ?

    um-ing and ah-ing...

Momentum does feel better against the skin... but what do you sleep in, clothes wise, when you need a TQ? I have very little exposed skin - mainly my face, which isn't under the TQ anyway.

both myself and my gf used the 1.1oz calendered ripstop from DIYGearSupply for our TQ's and neither of us have any complaints on the way it feels, worked great for us
