Talking Just ordered a WL Night Owl!

Candlepowerforums caused my first addiction....flashlights. No I am not talking $5 showerhead LEDs from Wally's; my addiction has been to lights like Surefire, Fenix, Dereelight, etc....big ticket stuff.

Now you guys have started me down the path to hammock addiction and it already spread to one of my buddies. I have a GT single that I love...my buddy went out and got a HH Explorer. So on our first hang last weekend, I got to check out his HH. Still love my GT of course but man that HH is built nicely.

So I am thinking of ordering one when....what do I see? Yep, some info about the WL Night Owl and I now have one on the way. Really like some of the NO features and just had to try one...the HH can wait. At least hammocks are less expensive than most of my flashlights!

Question: can a self inflating pad be used in a double layer hammock? I have one that I use inside my sleeping bag now but would like to put it in the pad sleeve of the NO.

I've been eyeing this one myself, be sure to give us a run down.

I think youll like it. Ive tried many hammocks... Not as many as some like Cannibal, but Ive got a few under my belt, the Night Owl is it for me. Granted I do have to make room for the Grizzbridge, but those are the only 2 hammocks I own now.

HamMike... Give it a shot, I bought mine on a whim and it turned out to be a good one. I was so impressed with Marty, his CS and the craftsmanship of the Night Owl I now have a TQ, UQ, Old Man Winter tarp and a Lite Owl. All within the span of a few weeks.

Another one looking at buying a lite Owl

I'm considering buying a light owl, after having real calf Ridge and knee extension problems with my most recent hammock a WBBB.
Have been working through the recommended fixes on the forum but have only managed to reduce the problem not get rid of it, this may not be the hammock for me. I turn 40 next year perhaps that has something to do with it, the body is less forgiving than it was

As the owl range of hammocks is relatively new, it seems a limited amount of feedback and reviewing done to date. I've found no reports of my two pet hammock hates shoulder squeeze and calf Ridge pressure on the forum thus far. Would be keen to read a report from you on the forum when you've had time to test your new toy

Ive noticed no calf ridge issues in my NO. I "think" I string it at the standard 30 degree angle loaded, maybe a bit less, but I always eyeball it.

Shoulder squeeze... Well any hammock is going to squeeze your shoulders... Im pretty broad and dont feel confined in the hammock at all.

I can get flat in either, but with the NO I have a bit more leeway in hitting the sweetspot.

Help me out with this....what do you mean by "basic"? My GT single is about as simple at they get. The NO has features that my GT does not have....must be at least a little more than basic.
