Pretty quick/straigthforward question here.
I'm looking at making my own TQ and UQ. I'm currently working out what materials I will need to order to produce them. given that I'm in Australia where it is very difficult to source quality materials locally and at a reasonable price, I'll probably order through DIYGearSupply or ThruHiker.
At the moment I'm leaning towards using M90 for the TQ and a standard 1.1oz ripstop calendared nylon for the UQ. The main reason would be that M90 feels softer which would be more attractive on a TQ.
Is that reasonable logic? Is there a huge difference between the feel of the M90 and ordinary ripstop? What about difference in how it performs?
I guess what I'm asking is: is the m90 really worth paying double for in a TQ application? and would its improved wind resistance make for a vastly improved UQ?
um-ing and ah-ing...
