yeap but honestly i really wanted something like that jungle hammock i am a neat freak.. i have tried to get help but the insurance wont pay, lol.
doing what you are talking about would be no different than just sewing a hem with the hammock fabric itself and running the line through that. there would be no advantage to using webbing. the line is stationary in there so there is no worry of abrasion even with just the simple hem. and with both, all your weight is on the stitch holes in the hammock fabric, which will be the weak point no matter what is beyond, webbing or just ripstop hem. standard whipping creates a mass of fabric and you lash a girth hitch around it which the mass cannot slip through. the stitch holes are not loaded with weight which is the advantage of whipping.
i see your point. i guess whipping with covers is just the way to go. thanks everyone for your help with this.
