Going below zero with insultex and primaloft

I have a DIY 3 layer insultex and its warm to 28f and would like to add 6oz of primaloft to it to get to below zero.

I'm not sure about what to make.

    These are some options.

-make a underquilt out of 6 oz primaloft and 1.1 oz ripstop covered on both sides, and attach semi permanently to top layer of insultex.

-sew 6 oz primaloft to one piece 1.1 ripstop and sew to existing top layer of insultex

, chime in in you have any ideas.

    Another option:

-sew 6 oz primaloft inside 2 piece 1.1 ripstop and use velcro to connect to the existing top layer of insultex.

That gives you flexibility to use the 3-layer IX when temps are going to be warmer....

I like your last option because of the flexibility. Weight wise the velcro is going to weigh more...but I still like this idea better.

I've thought about the idea before also. It seems like adding the IX with a few tabs of velcro would be the way to go.

I wonder though if it would even be neccesary to add the velcro. I've never worked with IX but if you slip it between the UQ and the hammock would the tension/pressure of you laying on it hold it in place enough?
