    Greetings from the Northeast

Greetings HF! I've been a HH Explorer Ultralight user for the past 2-3 years, been camping several times with scouts and some ground-pounding friends of mine, mostly in the southeastern Massachusetts area. I'm happy to report that I've been gaining more and more converts every time I set up my rig. Said rig consists of the stock HHXU standard bottom entry, with the only change being to have a separate ridgeline set up for the stock asym fly. The biggest change I've made recently is to use a Big Agnes bag with their own air core insulated pad. I've found this to be very comfortable and the combo does a great job of keeping the pad under me with no fuss.

I can't even call myself a lightweight backpacker, since the times I actually get to go out and do it are few and far between. My buds and I try to get out at least once a year for a week-long stomp. Otherwise my sons being involved in Cub Scouts (soon to be Boy Scouts) have kept my camping cravings satisfied, for the most part. As for the lightweight portion of it... I'm trying to take steps to eliminate that "nice to have" stuff, and cut the weight of my gear as cost-effectively as possible.

I look forward to checking out more articles to get some handy advice, and I'd like to credit Shug who's entertaining videos and frequent references to HF drew me to become a member.

Welcome to the forum from someone who is just over the border to the left of you.
