Ahh, last time I was hikin the AT, passed some "College kids" & "Smoked em"

H###, my "Baby" is older then their teacher / professor. Granted, I had 100 trail miles on by that day, & they had been out about a day, but I started 4 miles before they did, & after I passed em, never saw them again.
Trouble was, my head was so swollen (Ego) I could barely make it down the trail. My ears kept scraping on the trees as I passed tween em.

I took the survey. I agree, needs more definition. ALSO: Backpacking usually also means Camping. I suggest changing that to read "Car Camping" to differentiate from Backpacking (Back country) camping.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

I'm not into all that tree hugging touchy feely stuff. The outdoors is a resource to be used.

Just out of curiosity but have you had a class in survey writing? It does not seem like a well constructed survey due to the limited range of options you have to choose from. Also, some questions lead you to answer in certain ways and seems as though you will not get objective data from it.

Just a thought. Not intending to criticize so much as get you to think how the questions and options could be changed to not unintentionally narrow your data.

I filled it out as well. I was a little shocked that I fell into the last age category as well. I guess maybe I am getting older. Nah.

I am not sure this is really political spam or the like. My girlfriend is a Outdoor recreation major and had a very similar assignment from her university professors. She did hers on the Michigan Recreation Passport when it first came out. Just my thoughts in this.

With too many things not nice to say, I'll just say your survey seems a bit, flawed. I mean, do I drink hormone free milk? IF I don't drink milk is the answer yes or no, and what milk doesn't have some hormones in it? Is conservation linked to outdoor sports? I believe NASCAR is a sport performed outside and I believe they try to be very conservation minded when they participate in it, but do YOU consider it a linkable sport? Does my use of a motorcycle with a higher MPG qualify as an alternate form of transportation or only if I use peddle power?

Looks like the only thing you didn't ask is whether my poop is brown or some fancy color due to the dyes in my morning cereal. Though how you'd link that into conservation I'm not sure.

Shoot, you ask if I drive an environmentally friendly vehicle, then you list electric (which means coal powered with big nasty chemical process batteries) hybrid (again, batteries and gas powered) bio-diesel (nice to use waste product for fuel but inefficient and more petro chemical dependant then just using Petro chemical fueled cars in the first place) or other vehicles. Other? They don't have fuel cells out there for me yet so really the only other choices I have are Petrol vehicles or nuclear powered, nuclear being the cleanest, environmentally friendly but you don't list it.

It's scattershot man, someone needs to tighten up the questioning
