900 Miler 20 deg Top Quilt

This weekend, one of my friends is hiking the last trail in the Smokies he needs in order to have hiked them all. It's the Sugarlands Trail with a very intense 100ft elevation gain over 1.9 miles.

He is part time ground dweller, part time hanger and has been using a pretty hefty sleeping bag for years now(he's 66). To help him lighten his load and to celebrate his 900 miler finish I made him a new top quilt. Nothing new or innovative, just thought I would share.

Tried to make it as user friendly as possible, so gave it a sewn foot box and an offset collar closure(see pics).

    All dimensions are finished measurements
    Width at head: 52"
    Width at foot: 38"
    Length: 75"
    Weight: 23.8oz
    Down Fill: 14oz 800fp
    Loft: 3"

    Thanks for looking!

    Ryan

Sweet looking quilt, lucky friend you have!

Just out of curiosity what did you use for your dimensions before sewing? I am starting my first TQ soon and I am a bit leery of my numbers. I want my finished product to look like yours!
Just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself!
