I'm in for getting there (wherever that is) Saturday mid morning. I'm up for a short-ish hike, hang out and then head out Sunday in the mid afternoon. What's for dinner?

Enjoy the elevation
I saw five dead deer driving from the Jersey Shore to Princeton this weekend. All that meat just going to waste.
I'll be there Sat. morning at Batona. May or may not have 12-year-old son in tow. I will bring some Chili from Hell for dinner.
Just ordered my Hammock Gear 20 degree UQ Incubator with 2 oz overstuff tonite. Adam and Jenny provide the most incredible customer service. I'm not expecting my UQ for this weekend's trip, but maybe I can get it for the following weekend 12/2. KYBob will have his full length Hammock Gear UQ by then, and we're gonna hit the Pine Barrens again. Beautiful country and the tastiest water I've ever had!
Can't find a place online to get the $2 camping permit. Do we actually have to drive to Batsto to get the permit, then 25 mi. north to Batona?
Syb - sounds like you might get there before me. If so, grab me a permit.

Hey guys, let me know how this trip went, I've wanted to do the Batona trail for a while and just haven't gotten around to it. But after reading how easy it is, I may have to take an extended weekend and do it.

I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead and some come from behind. But I've brought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!
Kayak Karl, Syb and I hiked from Batona Camp to Apple Pie Mountain on this trip. The rise in elevation made for pretty strenuous hiking. The air gets thinner and there's so much less oxygen available. Next time I'm bringing an oxygen tank.
Trip report coming, but it will take me a while to edit the video. Still trying to get the oxygen levels in my blood back to normal.
