if you're looking to go light and know you'll be getting an uq soon, you could go with a single 1.1 and just lay on the pad for awhile till you get the uq, good bit of weight savings by going single 1.1 if that's important

i did a poll here on hf and asked this question to owners of my hammocks and nobody (out of quite a few responses) reported bugs biting through either of the single layer options (or doubles either), and i've also never had any customer mention being bitten through my fabric ever
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.
Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
Sounds like single layer is a good way to go because of weight. Any advantages to the double layer, besides putting a closed cell foam mat in between the layers? I'm not counting grams, but I don't like to carry useless weight, either.
What they said.
The double layer adds protection from mosquitoes, prevents a pad from moving during the night, and can allow for a flatter lay if you are near the weight threshold on the single layer version (the fabric will start to sag a little near the weight threshold).
The single layer is lighter and slightly less expensive.
"The Road goes ever on and on,
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can.
Pursuing it with eager feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

My 1.1 double came last week. I also got the camo Superfly. I haven't even set it up yet. Can't wait, though!
