    My DIY reversible hammock

I decided to try making a gathered end hammock for use in the "no bug" season. I have a WBBB I normally use, but I wanted to have one without a bugnet for winter use. I had a 40% off coupon for Joann's but they did not have one continuous piece of the same color, so I decided to go with green and black, so now I have a reversible hammock.

Turned out fine I think. Need to add a ridge line and I think it's ready for a test run.

I have been planning to make a double layer just like this for a while with a different color on each side. Glad to know that yours came out well and gives me a real world projection of what I see in my mind. Cheers!

Had not thought of the two-tone look until I got to the fabric store and they did not have enough of one color. I figured I could swap it around to match my underquilts.

Started with 60"x130" before hem and channels. Probably could have gone a little shorter, but I am 6'4" and wanted to have plenty of length. I can always shorten it if I need to.

Did you sew up the one side completely or leave it open so you could get a pad in there?
    I like the two-tone look!

Sewed it all up, don't like to use pads. The DIYGearsupply.com guide tells how to make one for use with a pad I believe.

So was the approach with two layers for weight or warmth? I ask as I have made on with the pad pockets, but am considering making one like this, but don't know if there is a real benefit. We are very similar in body type so I am curious how well this works for you.
Look up before you hook up!!

Two layers for the strength. I weigh 300 lbs and wanted the extra layer jus in case. Not sure a single layer of 1.9 would hold me, but then again....I never tried.
