I am getting my wbbb for Christmas, but while waiting on that I have a question when it comes to keeping the backside warm. Could I use my big Agnes inflatable pad in a double layer or is the ccf better option? Thank you for the help/guidance!

My 2¢:
I use a Thermarest inflatable, and find that it conforms to me better than my ccf pads do. The key is to inflate it only partway, so that it wraps around you better.
The problem I had with my big agnes pad was the fact that it is relatively narrow compared to the pad sleeve of the blackbird. Even with the pad partially inflated it would slide when I moved through the night. I had a hard time staying on it. I'm a quilt guy but if I were to try pads again I would look for a thin wide pad and would probably start with a cheap ccf.

I use 24" blue pad - works great. 20" was too narrow. UQ might come later
air pads tend to squish around, ccf will feel much more stable

so I can speak from ground-dwelling experience. I consider the BA to be a summer-maybe-just-in-to-fall insulation system. Since you will be partially deflating the BA you risk compressing the insulated top layer. Not good for fall and winter. The CCF will evenly insulate you, will be wider, and will stretch slightly to accomodate your body's curves while in the hammock.

I had my BAIAC out last weekend to around 30° and it was COLD from the underside. My top with a Hammockgear Summer Burrow was just adequate enough with my fleece base layer on. I have used the BA pad in the hammock before and i find if partially inflated all the air migrates to the foot end and fully inflated it is hard to stay on. For a narrow pad I did find that its easier to keep my shoulders warm as it seemed to elevate me above the hammock body enough to allow my TQ to loft up in those areas. YMMV but these are my observations this far.
