    legit stand?

So I'm looking for something in a backyard stand that will be easy to move around and not tough on the budget. Came across THIS at Academy Sports. Unfortunately, my local store doesn't have one to check out so I thought I'd try my case with the experts.

Hammock will probably be a GrandTrunk of some sort for a start unless I later pick up a WBBB or something for serious outdoor exploits.

    Thanks for the opinions.

Check your local craigslist, those types of stands are always being listed and sell pretty cheap.

I have the same basic style stand that I use in the backyard and hang my GT from, it works out pretty good. Add a length of PVC with a hole or two drilled in it to the uprights and you have a spot to tie off a tarp ridgeline.

I have that stand. It works if you absolutely want to set up your hammock and have nothing else. But with it, I find it hard to get the right amount of sag for my hammock without the low of the hammock being on the ground.

I caught that same stand on sale....i'm glad i only paid 30 bucks for it. It works for my HH deluxe, but I have to string it up a bit tighter than I like. It's hard to sleep in a good diagonal as the sag isn't quite enough. It works for testing gear in the yard though if you have no suitable trees. I plan on sinking two 4X4's to meet my needs later on. I would look into some of the other DIY stands here on HF before you buy.

Turtlelady stand works wonders. Wee bit more expensive though. Ran me about $70. But it's pretty awesome. Can find it in the DIY section or search it. Dead simple to build.
