    Seam sealing superfly tieouts

Probably a dumb question but I don't have pullouts on my BMJ. Do you just seal along the stitch line on the outside or do you so both sides? How about the tab of webbing? all around the base and across the attachment stitching?

    I used Permatex Flowable silicone

at the suggestion of other posters here. I ran the stitch lines on the interior and then the exterior. So far, with limited rain exposure, no leakage.

Same sealer ... only the inside ... two substantial rain storms ... no leakage.

i did both sides, plus the tabs, didn't see what it could hurt to be 100% sure it was sealed good

I always do the seams on both sides as hate getting wet when I don't need to. The outer perimeter seams and tabs don't really need done as if water gets through it wont drip on you. That being said I usually do them anyway on my larger tarps where weight isn't a big issue. The Loctite Flowable Silicone Windshield Sealer you can get at an auto parts store sure works well. I like to use a solder flux brush that you can find in the plumbing aisle of the home improvement centers.

I don't have time to order any as the Iowa Hang is Friday so I just used the silicone seam sealer I had on hand and did the inside only so my hackbutchery sealing job wont be as visible.
