    Bigbogg’s first DIY project DONE!!!!

Well I wanted to do something easy for my first project. So I made a gear hammock for Littlebogg. I found some cheep digital camo cloth at Joann’s and off we went. I had a friend give me a Singer 247 and it seems to work fine. Does anyone else use this? Any way I need to work on keeping my stitches strait but other than that I think it came out ok. What do you all think? Sorry for the poor pic all I had to take it with was my phone and the camera on it is less than great.

+1 on this im the same way it all comes with practice and if i could suggest practicing on a slick fabric like silnylon will make the learning curve quicker cause its harder to sew a slicker fabric but once you learn to you can sew anything

Thanks bros just trying to get me feet wet. Littlebogg will like it. How do you all use your gear hammocks. Under or over hammock or set off on another set of trees?

i don't use a gear hammock... i tie my pack to a tree and cover it with my rain cover ... or i lay it on the ground under me....
i use the shelf on my WBBB to store most gear .... or in stuff sacks hanging from my hammock.... LOL

my pack cover works as a gear hammock but never use it as one

Looks nice, BB! I don't usually use one either, but last campout, I tied my duffel bag to the same 2 trees as my hammock, and tied a string to it and staked it out, pulled away from my hammock so it didn't bump me as I lay (think blackbird tieout).

Nice project! Gear hammocks are great, especially when it's raining and you want your stuff handy and also off the ground.
