I don't carry very often. When I do I put it in the WBBB shelf. Now that I have a Switchback and a Lite Owl I will have to figure something else out. I may try the peak bag.
I am admittedly more nervous when I have the kids with me, especially the daughter. When I do carry it is an old .357 mag. Too long and heavy for the ENO stuff sack. I hang the barrel end from where my whoopie meets my hammock and it lays in the gathered end. I would only have to reach above my head. Laying diagonally I've never bumped against it.
I carry concealed 7 days a week...springfield mil spec 1911 .45 acp, when in the hammock she stays in a level 2 rentintion holster I lay on my chest as to be safe when i sleep, when hiking i use a IWB crossbreed super tuck holster...horse hide, combat cut very comfortable

I just switched from a Glock 36 to a Ruger LCR 38. 13.5 ounces without cartridges. I am still researching a way to carry, and where to place it in the hammock.
Looking forward to trying out the pistol shelf in the BB.
AK has big and cranky bears so at times I've packed a custom 44 mag (and pepper) there, otherwise nope.
I'd guess that less than 5% carry north of the Mason Dixon Line, possibly more south of it....just picking a geographic point of reference. Lived lots of years on both sides.
