― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Come on guys, that bottle of whiskey was empty until he put his denatured alcohol in it. Yukon Jack is brown.
and it is obvious he is getting ready to make a pop can stove out of an empty beer can he found laying around camp.
I have no idea why the firearm was on the table. Maybe he forgot his hammer and was using the pistol as a dual use implement.
protection from animals has never crossed my mind as a reason to carry.
back in late winter while my hike partner and i were hiking the AT, i saw a local guy walking the trail with an assault rifle.
then a few weeks later as we were hiking at night, a couple of guys in a 4wd truck blocked the trail head at a dirt road crossing at 1a.m.
it ain't the bears i'm protecting my partner from.
