    Hammocks and firearms

Do most Hammock hikers out there carry a firearm as protection?? If so, what caliber and where do you stow it when in the hammock??

I carry either a .40 or a 9mm. I stow it in the shelf of the blackbird hammock.

For those who chose not to carry a side arm, that's fine, but please refrain from posting if you have nothing but negative comments on the subject.

I carry this southpaw cannon on my left shoulder everywhere I go. Sometimes I fix it with a bayonet.

A 9mm is my constant companion. I carry in a side holster.
When camping it stays on my hip as I sleep in the hammock.
At home, it rests on a shelf just beside the hammock.
