    TQ

Can you make a TQ from an military sleeping bag 20*, by removing the zipper and sewing a foot box. How effective do you think this would be. I can't use down i have a allergy to feathers.

you could probably even just leave it unzipped and it'll work.. a TQ is really just a blanket with a pocket for your feet.

Thank you I was hoping for that kind of reply. I was going to remove the zipper so the teeth would not damage the hammock.

I use an old down mummy bag as a TQ. I just don't unzip it all the way. Does not hurt the hammock.

Since I've been using a sleeping bag in my hammock for a couple of years, I can't imagine a scenario where the zipper would damage the hammock. Then again, since you have a fear that the zipper will damage the hammock, then that's probably exactly what will happen to you (though it probably never happened to anyone else in history before).

also might want to re-visit down ... down products have come a long way
and i know there are other members that have allergies as well and use them no problem
also most 800 fill down products don't have feathers in them
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

I took my sb apart, pulled the zipper, cut the hood, and removed the draft collar...

I will give this a look see, although when I stay in hotels I have to have a blanket because the down comforters stop me up bad.
