Nice job on your tarp pitch! Looks like you did the center tie mod, but your pitch is much better. How did you achieve this? My tarp sags in the middle and can collect water if I'm not careful. Im thinking about cutting it in half and re-sewing the ridge with a cat cut.

Well when it's dry the pitch is ok. But as soon as it gets wet it sags. And I have to readjust my lines. No side mods just used the tie out already there.
Here's a pic of the side.

Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course.

Wow, AZ hangers do exist! I've been lurking here for about a week, thinking I may want to abandon tent camping. I'm happy to see some others in AZ have found enough trees to justify this new addiction. Thanks for the trip report. I hope to purchase my first hammock within the week and test it at a campout on the 18th in Munds Park. I've never been there but I'm pretty sure there's enough trees. Two free meals and a chance to get out under the stars. Feel free to contact me if you want to join up and teach a noob how to hang.

We're here! I'm glad you found us. Actually, we have some celebrities too, like te-wa, who makes under quilts.

I wish I could join you on the 18th, but I'll be in Damascus at Trail Days. I live in Flagstaff, so any weekend you want to have a group hang, let me know! Send me a PM!

I'm also doing a hammock demonstration at REI June 20 and 21 at Tempe and Paradise Valley stores. Sign up and bring your friends!
