    Informative

Received my copy today. Great illistrations and contained a ton of useful information. Thought I had most everything figured out, but learned a lot especially concerning site selection. Also thought the 30'degree tips were helpful. Want to express a big thanks to Derek for a wonderul addition to my hanging experience.

There's probably something that says we're not allowed to photocopy but ....

Got the online version while I was in Mexico and had just had some awesome cast iron hammock hooks made and installed on the front porch.

Told my tenant to try it out but she was scared she would fall. So, I copied the page that shows the diagonal lay, scanned it, and emailed it to her.

That gave her the courage she needed, but she still put cushions on the floor in case she fell.

I'll be taking my hard copy to the FL Hang this weekend.

Really a great book, Shug, thanks to your video in youtube I was aware of its existence.
Ordered in Amazon and was very pleased with it.
It has a lot of the stuff that appears here, but in a concise structured way, so we don´t have to spend that much time reading spare threads here. It helps a lot to know what are the already tested techniques others use so we don´t have to spend so many time figuring them out, if ever. Really a very good source of info about hammock camping.

The only concern I had about the stuff stated in the book is about the use of the sliping lark´s head (or cow hitch) knot to adjust the suspension lines. I have used it myself sometimes and have had no trouble, but in several knot books I have it always says that it is one of the less secures hitches there are, prone to slip, so I would always use it in its "pedigree" form, or use it with a stopper knot or an extra turn around the standing part rope. I personally always try to use the marlinspike hitch and toggle system.

    Just my two cents.
