The UQP how much insulation does it add if any and which is better to use as a vapor barrier, water proof or breathable? I plan to make a UQ from a poncho liner (DIY) or whoopee blanket. I live in Texas so low temps are not that bad. As you can tell from these question I am very new to Hanging.
i use my breathable uqp every time i hang.
it is good protection for my quilt, reduces air flow and thus heat loss.
in hot weather i use it w/o a quilt.
i have the breathable uqp and i don't worry about condensation.
uqp...don't leave home without it .
The UQP should mainly help to retain heat that a wind could "rob" from the quilt. If your looking for a vapor barrier then breathable is your enemy, look for waterproof.
