    Tarp Stakes

I ordered a MacCat Deluxe and just realized that it does not come with stakes and was wondering what people recommended to use for stakes for the tarp? Thanks

I don't think that the choice of tarp determines the choice of stake. For general purpose use I have found that the MSR groundhogs are the best. http://www.rei.com/product/682543/msr-ground-hog-stake I used to use the little titanium stakes that look like a shephard's crook but they don't have enough staying power in the wind for me.

Some great vendors here have some available Ti stakes for good prices. Might want to check into some of them. Here and Here. I do have some Groundhogs and they are great too. Here and Here.

I use the Hammock Forums imitation groundhogs. Light, strong, easy to find (orange), and a little money to help support the forum.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. I think I'll get the MSR stakes from the local half moon since i need them soon and the forums store only has 4 in stock. Looking forward to trying out the tarp!

I like the ones at DIY Gear Supply!!

Just looked up the MSR Ground Hog, they look like the same, only the DIY GS are blue and cheaper!! I am color blind and the blue shows up better if dropped.

    +1
I use Ti stakes with trail stick stake booms if I want to really save weight, but those blue stakes from Scott are really nice. They weigh 14 grams, compared to 20 grams for Ground Hogs.
