Unfortunately, I’m not going to get to make this one… hope to see everyone in March.
This is puzzling. Here's a Corps link that shows the lake is down by just over half a foot.

Maybe that's for the lake itself? As I recall, there's just the bayou in the park boundaries...you have to go up the channel to get to the lake...

Yeah it's the little bay that I can see the depth of, I lack a boat to check the rest and don't feel like renting one just to check depth.
I'm getting all my hammock gear over Christmas and I may try to make it up to this and drag along a few ground dwellers from Houston. Is this mostly a kayaking/canoeing destination or are there hiking trails as well?
There is some hiking to be had. I'm bringing my canoe. Anyone is welcome to use it.

My date just got word that her request for the day off on 1/13 has been approved so we will arrive mid afternoon on Friday and plan on staying through Monday.
I have not reserved a site yet but plan to soon and although "boat-less" we'd love to paddle some. I hope to rent or bum some floating time depending on what options are available.
My son is asking off work so he can be there as well. We'll know more closer to the date. So, it's looking like UncleMJM + 2 if all goes as planned.
I'm looking forward to some time in the trees with good friends again soon.
Not sure if my stars will line up yet ......... More info to come

Are we all doing a reserve it yourself thing or is someone doing a mass reserve? Water level seems to be coming up some. Map wise looks like 3+ miles to the closest part of the lake via water.
