Think I caught the bug myself. I got some Amsteel on order right now that I don't have to have right now but........I need it.

Is using a childs sewing machine until I can get a big boys machine a symptom?
I believe I may be infected as well...
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
bought a new fabric impaler last night. i walked out of the fabric store with a big smile on my face.
I own 3 thread-injectors, more than a couple of yards of ripstop, more than enough rolls of thread (with a redundancy), and lots more of stuff. Ah yes, there's also a pair of whoopie-slings I made months ago which I still have no use for -- my three DIY hammocks already have whoopies...
But the worst: I am getting out of down and there's no cash for the dealer. And I absolutely need 7D and just don't have a clue how to pay for it...
Hah - I have all the same symptoms and have done all the line work (with mega-redundancy. How many soft shackles does one need??) So now I am moving on to the desire to sew my own gear. I initially thought I would track down an "industrial" machine on CL and found quite a few out there locally. But is that really necessary? My wife has a sewing machine and knows how to use it - perhaps I should man up and ask her if I can use hers to learn? Any good initial advice or go-to sites from the experienced sewing-types for us total sewingnoobs??
I’m still very new but I’m looking at taking a sewing class at the local fabric store... I haven’t actually made anything yet partly due to not owning a sewing machine. I feel the bug coming on already! Uh Oh

Uh oh,
I think I've caught a really good case of Hammockitis. I went past purchase, straight to thread injector DIY. Created a new TQ out of a mummy. Received my first shipment of Amsteel Blue, Saturday. Made 5 whoopie slings and 4 soft shackles. Now I'm contemplating an UQ design to make two out of a sleeping bag.
Is there a cure, or is it terminal? I think it's highly contageous. Ms. Chef wants one. I'm waiting for a PIF hammock for the little ones and planning trips, including a stealth hang.
Is there a cure, or is it terminal?
There are very few problems we can solve ourselves, but there is almost nothing we cannot solve together.
Most often when someone says they can't, they are unwilling to try.
I am afraid one doesn't get rid of hammockeritis until the day one kicks the bucket...
but it is much more fun and less uncomfortable than many other terminal conditions.. especially tenter-itis!
