I'm a definite maybe at this point (if it starts to cool off some). I did a paddle back in July and just kind of "stewed" in the boat the whole trip.
Hiking near/past one of the springs would be great for a lunch or dinner stop.

Answered you in the other thread, too, but...
"Maybe". It depends on whether the wife has plans for that weekend, and I'd have to go Sunday-Monday rather than Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday due to my work schedule.
I'll let you know for sure as the date gets closer (I should know about a month out).

Sorry about the "month" comment above; I'd really hoped to hear back from the wife earlier and hadn't realized that Labor Day was that close. Going to have a date night tonight, and I'll have a definite answer by tomorrow morning.

Ok cool. Im gonna be in gainesville sat anyway, and would be heading back to tampa on sunday, so theres nothing stopping me from stopping on the way and doing an overnighter in ocala.

Spoke with the wife, and I'm on for Sunday night. Dunno if anyone else'll be there that night, but I will.
How does Hidden Pond sound for a place to sleep for the evening? I'm thinking either Hopkins Prairie trailhead southbound (for a short hike) or the US 19 trailhead northbound (for a long hike).

Due to work, I have to work all weekend and the holiday. The rnc keep changing how they want stuff set up (I do convention/concert production). Hence the lack of forumness. there is another convention going on in Orlando over the weekend and I got stuck. Sorry guys really want to try out the new pack and meet y'all on the trail.
