depending on what kind of temperature range you are going for I wonder about just addig a space blanket or a thin closed cell pad. No worry about compression that way.

I'm hoping to get them down to mid 40s, maybe a little lower. I'm perfectly comfortable at 40 with my PLUQ with a 40 deg sleeping bag as a TQ but these fleabay PLs seem thinner than mine (even though the tag says they're made to Milspec)...which is why I want to add a little extra insulation. Headed off to WallyWorld shortly to get some sort of sheet batting.

Dale, you're right about painting yourself into a corner by trying to go too low with a PLUQ. So far I've been to 25 and it wasn't pretty (but I stayed warm). Hopefully Santa will be bringing me some 5 oz climashield apex and some 1.1 oz ripstop so I can make a proper cold weather UQ and TQ for me
