    Ridgeline help

I know this has been covered and I did a search but could not figure it out.
I know Water Monkey did a vid on installing adjustable ridgelines but I can not find it..
I added a adjustable ridgeline to my Lite Owl and want to add RL to a few more hammocks but I am not sure if I did it correctly. I just larks head the fixed end over the whoopie sling at my headend. The adjustable end is over the whoopie sling at the foot end, ( just looped over it). Is this how it is done, or do I connect it some other way?
Please take a look. Sorry for the poor quality of the pics
Here is the fix loop on the adjustable ridgeline larks head to the whoopie

Here is the adjustable end of the RL. It is just looped over the whoopie.

That will work. Once you have your RL length dialed in and you do not need to adjust and readjust the RL you can either larkshead the adjustable loop the same as the fixed loop or you can incorporate the adjustable end of the whoopie in the larkshead that goes around the gathered end by feeding the suspension through the adjustable loop before completing the larkshead. Doing this just keep the adjustable loop in place during packing and unpacking.

That should work without any problems, though I don't do it that way. I have some strange fear that the ridgeline could move up the whoopie during the initial hammock hang. This might cause a slight error in hanging. Making me think I have the optimal hang angle/tension but when I weigh the hammock the ridgeline would move and change the sag just a bit. Probably not enough to even notice.

After seeing Grizz's HFDHS I do a modified version of that. I use a loop of amsteel with a double diamond knot that is attached using a Lark's Head. I then put the suspension whoopie and ridgeline whoopies on the double diamond knot.

I have faith is this system and I can easily remove/replace any section that is needed.

That will certainly work. Like Lazyboy, I like to use a soft shackle on one end to make it easy to remove when desired.

Once I've determined the proper length, I feed each end of the ridge line through the gathered end ball before I larks head it to the whoopie. That makes sure that the ridge line stays inside the hammock and keeps you from accidentally flipping it inside out. Also, that's the way my Traveler came when I got it, so I just replicate that.

I settled on a 110" RL and used a Dutch Biner on the adjustable end.
