Those don't look like they were made to hold much weight. I would be wary of hanging my hammock with them.

I agree with headchange. If I'm going to trust my body weight to hardware, I want it to be well proven gear.

Just my 2cents...NOPE...I would not try 'em...looks like a thin metal "Stamped" buckle I seen on my son's book bag...

Rule of thumb is that if something isn't load rated or looks flimsy, it probably isn't worth using on a hammock. If anyone here can understand the need to go cheap, I can, trust me. But when you're looking at the possibility of injury from cutting corners or cheap gear, I'd rather use the money for better quality gear than an ER co-pay.

Cinch buckles or JRB Tri-Glides are the way to go IMO.
