I feel the e trunks are safer than the dutch buckles/msh setups. The reason i switched over to the e trunks is for the way the hook holds the whoopie i feel it is less likely to slip off and out. Just my opinion on the systems.

Of the three you are asking about I think I like the Elephant trunks best but its only because I never liked scrunching and twisting webbing. There's no rhyme nor reason to it but I just like the webbing to stay flat. The lightest set up is the MSH with a trail stick.

True, but they still get squished by the amsteel.

Its also a matter what some us feel gives a larger safety factor as some us hangers on on the heavy side. A setup that might be fine for my wife might not be for me (140# vrs 280#). Some of our hangers are close to 400#

and i can say this from experience, im just under 300# and Big Turtles bigger than me, and we both have D. Buckles. I also have trunks, and while I like them, I think the buckles are a faster setup (one less step needed, and you dont have to stuff the amsteel into the trunk on the buckle.) but were talking a second faster.

I even use the Trunks for other things, like hanging a UQ or other gear since it has the hook.

So end the end, I think you could go either way on these. I did do a review if you havent seen it kinda comparing the 2 http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=40384

either way you go you have great products and service.

    4) Weight gain from a toggle is minimal.
    5) Buckle is more secure than a marlinspike hitch and toggle.
    6) Again, only his opinion.
