I am no longer a noob re: insulation

Just ordered my Hammock Gear 20 degree Incubator with 2 oz overstuff. I think this finally takes me out of noob status since I now have some big boy bottom insulation!

As always, the waiting is the hardest part. Boy, when I get that UQ, I am just gonna wear it out this winter. I'm afraid my 12-year-old-son might actually join me on some hiking/camping trips, get jealous, and he will take my UQ from me. Oh well, more business for you Stormcrow and Jenny.

Congrats! This is big day! Remember it well. You will soon have Adam's email and phone number memorized because it's all you can think about for the next few weeks.

You should stay up late and buy things on the internet more often...

    Jenny and I thank you!

Oh, and whenever your son is ready for his set...

Oh man, I am in deep crap now with the significant other. I just added the 20 degree Burrow to my order. I should have added a copy of "The Ultimate Hang" but just couldn't do it. Sorry, Dejoha!

Oh man, I got a lot of 'splaining to do. This has been a long time coming and I will be forced to hang at least every other weekend to justify the expense.

But really, am I honestly expected to use a Byer Moskito Hammock or a Hennessy Expedition Asym Zip for the rest of my life? Can't I get an upgrade there?

I don't even want to think about the "pimp my tarp" or "I need a dehydrator" discussions with the wife. At least I have top and bottom insulation out of the way.

Stormcrow and Jenny: This was not an impulse buy. I have thought long and hard on my purchases. I spent hours, no, months, reviewing vendors. And finally, I chose Hammock Gear because of your excellent reputation and quality gear. And after all the time you spent with me on the phone with my inane and endless questions, I know I made the right choice!

When we go on our Pine Barrens trip on 12/2, I can't wait to see KYBob's jealousy when he sees that I have, not just a Hammock Gear UQ, but a TQ as well! Priceless.

I gotta say this thread is making me a little jealous, oh harbinger of galactus' might, and I am now redirecting my browser to the Hammock Gear site to check out some perfectly good uses of my hard earned money.

I don't think "seasonal sets" will ever happen for me. In the first place, I sleep hot. A summer, spring or fall UQ bewilders me. I read on HF that the general rule of thumb is hammockers need an UQ under 70*F (or is it 60?). Either way, it sounds like marketing to me.

Reminds me of my vet telling me my dog Peanut needed to be neutered. "Why does he need to be neutered?" I asked. He's a house dog - he's not gonna be out propagating the species.

Then the vet tells me that getting Peanut neutered will reduce his chance of getting testicular cancer. Maybe it's just me, but that's the stupidest crap I ever heard. "Can you remove his brain while you're at it, Doc? I don't want him to get brain cancer." Needless to say, Peanut is walking around sporting a full set.

If I ever get cold and need an UQ at 60 degrees, just shoot me. I don't deserve to live.
