I put the ENO ones up along the RL of my hammock, when car camping or in the winter time. They are more for ambiance then anything else, thery really don't shed enough light to see enough to read...but I can see enough to do in hammock chores, or look for stuff.

I have attached on a prussic one of those lanterns JRB sells, and they work great for lighting up the hammock enough to read, or any other various chore on need to do.
I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.

A few weeks ago I came across these crazy cheap battery-powered LED lights at Big Lots that work off of two AA batteries, are very bright, and seem to last pretty well on one set of batteries. I can't find a link to them on the site, but they were $4.50 a strand and I used them on my last outing a couple of weeks ago.

That looks fun. I'll have to get some for my Holiday hang.

check out the dollar stores for the small solar yard lights. i only use the 'top' and toss the spike etc. they also work as battery chargers.

i tried using white led solar xmas strings as lights but the cord is just a waste. i bundle the 25 lights together into one big 'light' but i have a bunch of cord wadded up ...? i need to figure out a way to cut and resolder the led's into a more compact shape.

I dual purpose my headlamp as tentlight and prussic the headband over my ridgeline and put it on my low setting.. plenty bright enough to read by and not be offensive or drain your batt.. my first set lasted a whole season and I always carry a spare set of batts anyways. Save some weight Not the prettiest thing but functional
