A sleeping bag can be a pain to get into...
For TQ's there are cheap simple ways to make one.
I use a poncho liner,($16) and put shock cord in one end to make a foot box. The poncho liner is lightweight but it does keep me warm. I would rate it a 50*.

When it's cold I double it up with a lightweight sleeping bag that I us as a TQ. This sleeping bag was only $29 and it had shock cords up by the shoulder area and top of the bag and a Velcro tab to close it up. It unzipped all the way open, so it was easy to convert to a TQ.
I think it is rated at 50*
when I double it up with the PL I stay warm in 20-30* weather

Shug's videos will get you the information you need. They took me from "never laid in a hammock" to a five day wilderness solo trip hanging each night.

I loved it. Can't wait to go again. Wish I would have came across this hammock stuff at least in September!

Your trees don't look too close at all. They would only be too close if you could not set up your tarp properly. Everything looks good.

I think my ridgeline was kind of going upward at the very ends. The tress were probably only about 12 ft apart. Dunno though

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. My ENO came in almost 2 days ago and I was finally able to set it up this weekend for a "test run". I too wish I'd have gotten it sooner.
