you have grasped the concept correctly- overstuff is more down in the channel than the amount required to fill said capacity; this keeps the down just a tiny bit compressed, which helps stop it from all packing into the low spots under the pull of gravity.
Adding more down to a quilt, i.e. "overstuffed with an additional 2 oz of 900fp".
ahh got yah...now i suppose i have one more question then.. how would i go about making the baffles for the down
