Thursday and Friday night would work better for me, as I'm usually busy on the weekends. Really looking forward to this hand and meeting some e-friends in person.

I will arrive Thursday afternoon as well. Want plenty of time to set up my hammock, etc. with nights coming early in the Winter. Will try to bring along some new flashlights for all that attend.
Come up on thursday, leave early saterday. Less then two hours from MPLS.
It would be great to see you again ! It's less then twenty minutes from Moose Lake for lodging. It's less then an hour from the Duluth area.
Always lots to do around Duluth. Some great small gear makers there to vist.
Alot of great state parks and forest in that area to.

I'm assembling my cold weather hammock system now (I've done winter camping in a tent, so I know what it can be like ) and I'm hoping and thinking I'll be able to come!

You'll be a lot warmer in your hammock, HikingDad!
I thought my SnugPod (a Snugfit inside a PeaPod) was overkill last January. IIRC, TZ came to the same conclusion about his pair of nested Snugfit UQs. Since Thing1 is coming with me, she will get the PeaPod and I'll use the Snugfit. This time, we'll use top blankets as supplements underneath.

I talked to Bridget yesterday directer of Camp Miller. They have a small cabin with shower, wc and a place to cook . Anyone that comes early or wants to stay late they charge $ 39.00 a night for one person or $ 25.00 night if more then one . If people use the top bunks there is room for 11 people. It would be about 1/2 mile from where we will be camped.
Here is the link for Camp Miller; www.ymcacampmiller.org/

I too have a "Previous engagement",,, in VA.
I'm thinking you guys have a chance a somewhat cooler weather, but I have already spoken to the weather people: "I bet you can't make it snow & get it below Zero that weekend! ", so the challenge is ON!
Think of us while around the campfire & we will do the same!

When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
Well I am on the list, at Camp Miller, for the cabin.
I hope to arrive Tuesday night. Anyone else want to join in?
I plan on being in the woods Thursday night thru Sunday, then back in the cabin for Sunday night then head out for home.

looks like I will make this one- count me almost 99% sure. I was hoping for a hang on my B-Day, but one weekend shy is still good. I will be working in Northern Wisconsin that week and will head over and be there thursday afternoon. It looks like people will be hanging on Thursday night- yes?
