Thanks for the video - a little pad/bag lovin' ! Always nice to show you don't have to replace gear when transitioning to hammocking.

Great video Shug! Entertainment and Education in its finest!
A humble way of showing that you can use what you have to see and feel what works out for you, and figure out what you like and how to mod it or make it yourself.
At least thats what everyone here on HF and Especially You have inspired me to do!
You're a TRUE INSPIRATION! You got me in to hanging, and no one is gonna get me out!

A BIG BIG THANKS goes out to You and Yours from the north of Sweden

Since I don't have a dedicated deep cold quilt, I usually layer one, or more, of my summer quilts, and one of my bags to get down to real cold temps.

It also allows for temp regulation when you really don't need all of that insulation
Make do with what you have and get out there ...right TZ!!!

It is a no-brainer. I love my TQs and lack of zipper but the bag is good to go. No excuses...right?

Thanks. You can morph what you got to work and get to hanging.

OK...so am I the only odd guy who doesn't seem to feel like he's fighting his sleeping bag in his hammock?

I use an HH Explorer Deluxe. When I got it, I put the HHSS on it, threw my military ICW sleeping bag in it, sat down in it, pulled my feet in, tucked them into the foot box of the sleeping bag, pulled the side over me and zipped it up.

Didn't know it was supposed to be difficult.

Even now using a smaller Alpine Design 20* bag, I just make sure I lay it out in the hammock so that when I climb in, I'm sitting on the "bottom" of it, pull it over and zip it up.

Just doesn't seem like any hassle to me. I spend more time changing positions during the night than I do fighting my bag.

    No, you're not alone.

I have to agree, it's really not that bad. Open your bag and lay it out in the hammock, sit down, rotate in and zip up. Takes a little wiggling to get everything where it needs to be - but that just warms you up a bit for the long cold nights.
