Nice job! Looks great!
Nice...now you just need to make your quilts and bug net and ridgeline and ridgeline organizer and summer tarp and winter tarp and....
a bug net will be a good project... but I can wait until spring to tackle that but I'll probably hold off on the DIY tarp and UQ because I have the OMW from wilderness logics, which for me will work all 4 seasons and I just ordered an UQ from HG during the black friday sale
I like being able to make my own gear, but only if it will work as nicely as something I could buy and it will save me a decent amount of money. If I can buy something and save myself the stress I usually do...

great job. as you were putting it up i thought "holy xxxx, is that an 11 footer?" lol looks great. i do think there is a flatter lay to the diy. sometimes its best to not overthink these things.
sweet, I'm diggin' the length!!
Its all about preference...if you feels good then it is good...
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

okay... so an update:
I hung in it a few times without a ridge line or tarp and it was super comfy, but when I set it up with the tarp it was peeking out on one end of the tarp (oldman winter). So I got the ridge line and adjusted for what felt like a sweet hang and it just... and I mean just barely fit under the tarp, so tonight I trimmed off about 8 inches which should give me adequate room under the tarp and I really don't think it will affect my lay too much.... making your own gear is pretty awesome because I'm realizing you can make it exactly for yourself and you don't have to worry about ruining something you paid tons of money on

amen to that! you had the length to spare to take off. i've seen them say your hright plus 4 feet. i would guess its more of a fraction of your height (2/3?). HYOH, ma man. still a job well done.
